“I think one thing about Lewis is that he’s really good at fostering an environment of joy and intention and curating that for all of the people that are around and I think that that’s one of the most beautiful unexpected parts of this workshop. I think for me specifically this workshop is a turning point the stuff that I’m going to apply will change my body of work 100% and it’s going to push it in the direction that I’ve always wanted it to be."

“I have been tattooing for about 10 years, but there was something about the way she was doing it that just made it worth it to travel this far. In his techniques there’s a lot of different things that Tattoo Artists have problems with. He almost made it limitless to the possibility whatever you can stencil. I always thought that stenciling had a lot of limitations but he showed us that actually there are no limitations. I think it makes your mind open to possibilities of doing different things and bodysuits and bigger projects more cohesive design strategy. I think it’s something that we are missing in the Tattoo industry and because it’s so oversaturated and so many people are coming in that are new, it’s very rare to find people that care as much as he does to want to take people on this journey to help them become transcendent.”

“It is mind blowing because l see that Lewis developed more simple way to solve it and the way that he explains how to do it is so calm. He doesn’t rush so it gives you the confidence to work like him The explanations and what he show us and the tool that he uses will improve my work and thousand times. I work in geometric style and sometimes I spend hours to get to a sort of effect that I can now do like a few minutes."

« I’m a been tattooing for 20 years. I make a lot of stencils so I wanted to make all the full wrap around, so that’s what I originally drew me in. I think it went above and beyond my expectations and I think I learned more things than I thought I would. It’s always good to get inside someone’s head you know. I liked the group dynamic because everyone’s asking questions and there are definitely questions I would not have thought to ask. I had a really wonderful time. I feel very full and very inspired. I’m excited to go home and make some art and tattoo some people. »

“From the very first time that that I saw his work, I was so fascinated. It’s not exactly what I wanted to do, but somehow this symmetry was something that felt impossible to me. I really loved it but I didn’t know how to get there. I learned about the patterns and I understood how the patterns work in specific ways and specific bodies. I learned all what I thought was impossible."

"The workshop was absolutely amazing. I am used to the big stencils, but there was some things that he taught us about how to wrap fully around that really helped out on problems that I have been having. I’ve been tattooing for 17 years so it’s awesome being able to learn something from somebody that has been tattooing for less time but has more information because of the amount of bodysuits that he has done. This is definitely a game changer in our industry and he is doing wonderful things with it so I am super happy."

“What I liked the most was the authenticity and the way he shares his experiences which make you feel human. Even though he is at a certain level, he feels like the rest of us and struggles with the same things. Stenciling has been mind blowing, even though I was familiar with some of the principles the way Lewis put them all together has been an incredible magical mix. He is an incredible teacher, he is very calm and very centered.”

"Everyone that tattoos knows how technical applying a stencil is on shoulders, knees, throat and all of these tricky scenarios that we can all relate to it struggle with. It’s really nice to have someone who not only has mastered doing it, but doing it with the most technical, symmetrical design that you could possibly come up with so if you can do that, you can do anything. To be able to learn 10 years of knowledge from someone not only willing to give it to you but making sure you’re actually getting it."

YASMIN
DUBLIN, IRELAND
@yasminborges
“I came here for the bigger stencils, and to learn how to do it. It’s incredible how kind of mathematically he built up a way to make it so easy for us to understand and to apply it. He simplified it so much and that’s one thing that I really liked about Lewis, because lots of people have lots of knowledge, but he has the knowledge and he knows how to share it and I think that's a big part for me. Being able to be a teacher is something else."

JOSH
BALI, INDONESIA
@joshtrigger
"When you’re in here, time is void, and I feel like he achieves that because every little intentional detail of his studio and his approach and his energy makes everyone that’s in here completely present. He has such a beautiful way of approaching people and art, and he is sharing his knowledge rather than withholding it. I feel like he has an ability to create confidence and self belief. He does that with each client and that’s what I find so beautiful."

GEMMA

“My experience has been wonderful. A lot more informative than I thought it was gonna be. I knew I was gonna learn a lot but honestly, my head is exploding with all this new information and inspiration. Come here with an open mind because you are definitely gonna learn more than you think you are. If you’re one year into tattooing and you’re coming here, you are starting in a very strong place, but if you come here as a tattooist of 20 years, the same thing. Just be open minded, willing to learn, and grow with the industry.”

“When clients come and say they want a seamless design that goes all the way around, in their head they think it’s easy, as artists we know it’s not. But the way Lewis does it, he makes it very simple. When he tells you and you see it, you’re just like: Why I have never done it like that. He can do it. He can teach it. So you can do it. If you’re a geometric artist right now and you wanna to take your work to the next level you have to come and do this. It’s just invaluable knowledge that you will carry with you for the rest of your career.”

KATELYNN

@usti_waya
“I really love how Lewis has just so much intention and passion behind what he does and a lot of confidence in his ability to be able to cultivate trust with his clients. I think a lot of times in the tattoo industry, it’s very rushed and so I really like that he was sharing how okay it is to really take your time, be patient with yourself, with your client and with the process. I definitely think that that’s something that I’m going to use from here on out. If you have the intention, then anything is really possible.”

ERIC
LOS ANGELES, USA
@ericharetattoo
“It opened my mind to a lot of things that I thought were impossible like the seamless wraparound full sleeve, seamless wraparound neck pieces… On top of the design and stuff, the little spiritual nuggets that were dropped throughout the workshop helped me understand parts of my career that I’m trying to make better. If you are tattooing and you are kind of stuck or don’t know what the next step is to take your career to the next level, you can definitely get a lot out of this workshop.”

RUSANA

“We use to go to tattoo conventions for experience like this but at the convention it’s always so stressful, it’s always so busy, there is loud music… You can’t get really intimate with people, and with workshops like this, with atmosphere like this, it was just mind blowing. I start working in two days, on Friday it’s going to be my first project where I have to apply the stencil to the full back and I’m very much looking forward to this because before it was like “I hope I’m lucky enough today,” now I just know that I will put it on.”

SZYMON
BRISOL, UK
@si_tattoos
“If someone thinks: Am I supposed to do it? Don’t think, just do it. I think it was the best investment in my tattooing career. Don’t think about financial aspect of it. It can be life changing opportunity. Since incorporating techniques I learned from Lewis during his workshop, my art has reached the next level. I feel more confident when creating, my workflow has evolved and I feel refreshed. It seems like he has awakened some kind of internal beast in me that allows me to find inspiration anywhere at any time.”

GAIA
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA
@cosmikali
“It was really inspiring to see the ensemble of someone’s workflow because a lot of times our workflow can be really private and “gatekeepy”. So to just see someone someone who is successful in their work and completing things that are challenging and on a really large scale, sharing everything from start to finish, struggling with the same struggles as you are, but sharing the tricks. Gaining the confidence to actually do the whole stencil all at once for me that was like really helpful because a lot of times I get intimidated by the fact that there’s a lot of physical paper to move around. When we see others being confident in who they are and kind of give us permission to be more confident.”

ANDY
ROERMOND, NETHERLANDS
@andyvanrens
“I didn’t expect much of it. I was a little bit stuck in my way of working. I did the same thing for a very long time and this really helped. This is a complete new way of thinking about how I do my designing, how I interact with my customers and it opened my eyes in a lot of ways. There is so much information and I learned so many things, it was really cool.”

MONTSE

@monabellatattoo
“The workshop as been uplifting, very inspiring tips to implement and to make my life easier while stenciling because for me that’s the most complicated part. When I hear him say that stenciling is his favorite part, I’m like, well this is not my favorite part because it stresses me out a lot, so now I think I will relax more and now I think I will relax more and enjoy the process because I know how to do it without all that stress. It’s very heartwarming seeing someone so validated in the industry, so humble, nice, and just easy to be around. Opening his space for us is a privilege and I am super grateful”.

“Lewis’s passion for what he’s doing and the technical specificity with which he goes about doing all his work. Every step in his process is so cohesive and so intentionally thought out that it really inspired me to revise a lot of what I’m doing and the way I’m doing it. The sort of pace at which he was teaching and working with us was really good and he felt very available at all times to answer questions and make sure that we had really full comprehensive understanding.” It’s really been an inspiring experience and I’ve had a great time.”

JYNT
KOWLOON, HONG KONG
@jynt
“He really took his time to answer all the questions, he went super detailed, he was super open, nothing to hide, super generous with his knowledge. He really showed every aspect of his process. He brought us to the tattoo room, showed the towels, the machines the needles just pretty much every aspect of his tattooing he shared with us. Besides the actual stencil application I think a lot of Lewis’s philosophy on tattooing, the way he likes to space, to have a quiet and comfortable environment, all that I’m definitely gonna bring back to my studio and use that on some of my clients. Just to have three full days with Lewis, it’s invaluable.”

ZOTTL
BERLIN, GERMANY
@zottl_berlin
“I wouldn’t expect that. If somebody does geometric stuff or blackwork, dotwork, mandala or even if it’s not geometric stuff, you can apply the things you learn here to every style. If you are a tattoo artist, and you have the feeling that you are limiting yourself on some point don’t stay there, go one step ahead across your own built borders and then you will grow. This is what happens here, you lose your borders, you grow you have new ideas, you have new inspiration you have new creativity.”

HOPE
ATHENS, GREECE
@lasthope_tattoo
"I hate working alone. I struggle a lot to progress so I always enjoy working with other artists. I think this is why I was so happy about this seminar. I had not only Lewis himself, which I admire a lot, but 12 other people that are specializing in geometry so I gained so much from them as well. I think the most important stuff for me. It was to watch him design and then how he talks to customers about getting such a big piece or a bodysuit.”

IVAN
BILBAO, SPAIN
@ivangarray
“To be honest, I was a bit skeptical about if I could learn something about stenciling because this is something I feel really comfortable with and I really enjoy, but for my surprise, I learned a lot about the little details that I will never maybe arrive by myself. The guy has a beautiful way of explaining. Just to be with him, spending time and see how he sees the life and how he sees the work, I think it’s a big present. It’s all about little details, of everything. For somebody that dedicates his life to Tattoo, spend some time with Lewis and have an opportunity to be into his mind for a bit, it has no price."

MICHALIS
FRANKFURT, GERMANY
@istotattoo
“If you tattoo more and more and more, maybe you will find answers but then it’s when? Lewis unlocked many things for me. He answered many questions that I had even some that I didn’t even have yet. I like his confident with doing things and that he is honest. It’s very nice to find you artists in this level, you know them from their work show me their Internet but then you see, you meet them, it’s very interesting.”

SCOTTY
VALLETTA, MALTA

“I feel like 15 years ago there wasn’t any seminars, or maybe there was but they were pretty frowned upon. Tattoo schools and learning online wasn’t a thing. You learned to tattoo, it had to be passed down, you did an apprenticeship, you did it proper way and it is really refreshing to hear someone’s opinion that was totally different from that and that is successful because you can’t take it away from him. The fact that you could bounce ideas and questions, maybe one person‘s question could relay another question which would relay another and it kind of gave people moment like “I never thought about that”. I’m really looking forward to seeing, where my career goes after this and I’m excited about that.”

MAX
CHICAGO, USA
@maxkomarovart
“I came here to learn from Lewis, but the connections that I made, knowing that they were having those issues as well, that’s what was very powerful for me. He answered the questions a lot of times before I even had the questions so the way he talks and presents his information, explained everything to me very clearly. I was struggling with some of the processes and now I can’t wait to get back and start tattooing with everything that I learned here. I think it’s very important to get out of your comfort zone if you are a tattoo artist, most of us seat in room for a long time and get stagnant so coming out learning from other artist who already made those mistakes before you, It’s very very important.”

SIMON
KARLSRUHE, GERMANY
@simonhaas_tattoo
“For me, the highlight was stenciling very difficult body parts that I’ve been struggling with in the past. There are just simple techniques that didn’t appear to my mind before but once Lewis showed them to me. They were like very obvious in fact, but they never came to my mind. Simple can be very beautiful and this is what Lewis is doing with his work The body is full of round shapes, the flat ones are the easy one. I guess this is not the body parts that people are coming here for Lewis didn’t only show the way he’s doing his stencils. He introduced his whole workflow to us. He really shared everything From 0 to 100% so we got the whole process. This whole experience is what makes it complete.”

GHOST
STUTTGART, GERMANY
@ghostbodyartist
“I like how Lewis has the ability to explain his vision of tattooing. I learned a lot about stenciling big project and how important is the environment you are working in. His energy is very good and he can explain his vision and his idea of tattooing verywell. We talk a lot about bodysuits and how important it is to see the whole project, and he was very clear. I think every artist should come here, the power, the energy and the influence that you take with you, is amazing. You always put limitations on your mind and Lewis is able to show you that they are only in your mind. I think the powerful skill is to set off these limitations in your brain, then there are no limits.”

“This workshop has been an experience for me. I’m so happy to be here and I feel so lucky to be honest. This is my first time in Europe and I met a lot of incredible artist and I’m so happy with all the knowledge that we shared with each other. I was a little afraid about the way how to apply the stencils on the body because it’s a difficult part, but Lewis explained it easily and it makes me feel like I’m going to enjoy it and I’m so excited to go back to Dominican Republic and apply in my work.”

NICOLE

"The workshop was was more than I could have ever imagined. I love that Lewis brought in so much awareness into the process, the meticulousness, the patience… He really opens up the reality of taking your time and having this reciprocated investment with the clients. My workflow is more illustration base, but I feel really inspired to incorporate more geometric elements within the work. Even though my work might be a little bit different I can still apply these tools into the work."

MUCH

@muchacho.navaja
“I am very thankful that Lewis is open to do something like this. When someone with a lot of experience and so thoughtful like Lewis is open to explain how everything works and why. Maybe I could have learned in 10 more years what I’ve learned now. It’s very rare that a good tattooer is sharing the advanced techniques so I am very grateful that he is open to give this chance. It is a great opportunity to be able to dig into the mind of an experience tattooer because most of the time you don’t get this chance.”
